Let Me Introduce Myself

Hi, I’m Freya. I’m an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD), and I graduated with a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Newcastle. Being born and bred in the Hunter Valley, I am really proud to have studied locally.

As an Accredited Practising Dietitian, I am qualified to provide evidence-based nutrition information and personalised advice to individuals, that makes a huge difference to people’s lives.

How do I differ to a nutritionist? Well, the answer to that is as an Accredited Dietitian, I am automatically an Accredited Nutritionist. Not all Nutritionists are Dietitians, however. My dietetics qualification allows me to provide medical advice through training in medical nutrition therapy. And with this qualification comes the requirement to continue to study, and for a girl who loves learning, this is perfect. Food and nutrition can be complex at times and with nutrition being a science that is always evolving, and the sources of nutrition information sometimes being unreliable, my passion lies in myth-busting to simplify food and dietary habits.

Since childhood, I’ve had a love for food and cooking, and this led me on my path to dietetics. And now I inspire and educate others to live a balanced lifestyle through food, all from my clinic in Church Street, Maitland NSW.
